Before I begin blabbing about the soap operas that i've watched... Let me tell you, if you knew me, then you'll know that i'm so addicted to Pinoy Soap Operas, Reality TV shows, movies etc... To sum it up.. i'm addicted to screen ;p
All these Pinoy Soap Operas.. what I like about it *besides the good looks of the leading roles* ahaks.. are that the plot, the character & the stories are alive. So not like our dramas or Samarinda or spektra *u name it*. Very fake! The script are so skema! And the acting pun tia payah cerita la... Storyboard pun very anti-climax! chet buang karan ja mo tgk!
Talking about Malaysian Drama... I've been watching one MALAYSIAN Drama in channel 8... The title is KL Lights... well, it's different & It's a good start for Malaysian Drama... Daphne Iking is a good actress... not bad for a first timer :-)
Ok.. Back to this Hiram. Hiram is the soap opera that i'm hooked with *now*. Can't miss it even for a single episode. The Story was a bit slow when it started. What I like about Hiram is the story & the characters in it. The story was about friendship, love & family values. And the character that I fall in love with is the charater of Stephanie Borromeo played by Anne Curtis.
I would like to quote something from one of the forums yang sia pi google..hehe.. it's written by SKATEGURL

~> The Picture of Anne Curtis who played the role of Stephanie Borromeo <~
"...It is hard not to fall in love with Stephanie Borromeo. She is outwardly beautiful but having been on the losing end of the comparison scale with Margaret all her life, does not think too much of her beauty. The girl is obviously intelligent, having graduated with highest honors at one time but apart from this, she is also street smart - this, despite having been raised in a somewhat privileged and sheltered environment. However, what is most unique and striking about Stephanie is her strong character. This girl is a survivor.
It is no joke to be the recipient of neglect and indifference by one's mother from birth. In fact, Stephanie was unwanted since conception. What made the situation worse was that Sophia made no bones about preferring Margaret over her. It is to Stephanie's credit that she grew up loving Margaret and not giving in to feelings of jealousy and resentment. Even as a child, Stephanie showed so much wisdom and knew how to separate her private pain from her friendship with Margaret.
Of course, it's understandable that Stephanie wanted to attract Sophia's attention through various ways and means. At first, she tried to be the dutiful, obedient, high-achieving daughter and when that didn't work, she went a different route - rebellion but without destroying herself. That ploy got Sophia's ire but the gap between mother and daughter grew wider. I guess Stephanie got tired of trying to make Sophia the center of her existence and just decided to live life on her own terms.
Her coping mechanisms continue to astound me. After each setback, she picks herself up and moves on. Despite her wounded past, Stephanie has remained a good person. Napakaganda ng kalooban niya.(She has a good heart) Beneath the astig stance and lakas ng dating (strong appeal) exterior, she is a lost child whose primary motivation is unconditional acceptance and love. Although she is deathly afraid of falling in love lest she gets hurt big-time, she is also capable of giving so much, probably even too much.
She is a fascinating character. Whoever wrote her is a genius. Your heart reaches out to her because you know her pain, you laugh at her antics, cry with her when she is hurt and wish that someday soon, she will find the man who will make her happy and fill all the empty spaces of her heart. This person must be the one who will see Stephanie for what she is - no longer on the losing end of a comparison scale but someone whose "kalooban"(what's inside..heart!) is a gift to the one she loves and truly a person who is worthy to be loved simply because of who she is...."
Kudos to the person who creates Stephanie Borromeo & to Anne Curtis who really feels her role (",)
