Today is post-operation day 7. I survived a day without painkiller yesterday! didnt take it today either. I hope I wont be needing the 'help' of painkillers anymore. The wound is still very painful... But bearable! =)

Oh! Im supposed to write about the remotes.. :D

& remote for astro!!

Today i wanna thank God for the invention of remote in the world. Thank you God for the person who invented this gadgets, it has made the life of a bed-ridden-while-recovering-from-splenectomy-gurl a lot easier. with just one click, varieties colored her world. May the wound be healed soon...thank you daddy God. Amen! =)

This is just one of the many events that was scheduled for them during their visit. Actually tea at my house was an impromtu event.

My dad went out early that day to bring them out for breakfast. I didn't join - Im avoiding having meals outside. Perutku bermasalah ckit. Hopefully after my op, i won't be having stomach discomfort anymore.. huhu..

I was still sleeping when my dad called me saying that they're on their way to my house. That call made me jumped off my bed to get ready! hahahahaha... Ambik ko Ty. Siapa suruh kesiokan tidur sampai lambat bangun! -.-

Some details...

Aunty helen & Aunty Veronica are my dad's 1st cousin. Ni mcm jejak kasih la ni. Late grandma Winnie Toyong (my grandfather-from dad side-'s sister) was married and they migrated to Taiwan yearsssss ago. They never came back. Even my dad never saw his Aunty Winnie.

So, these 2 aunties are determined to look for their relatives who are in Sabah... & wallah!! They're back to the roots after 60 years (actually this is their 2nd time visiting their relatives, the first time was like 4/5 years ago? That time they came with their father)

*Masa ni la bekeluaran semua gambar2 hitam putih* -.-

Anyway, I'm happy to know I have relatives in US and in Taiwan! More reasons to visit these two countries in future (Amen!) hehehehe.. Ehem! My US visa pun still valid for another 9 years :p

2.) Deactivated my FB acc for a few hours last night - then i decided not to. Its my medium of communication with my sis when she's at her workplace.. Was browsing thru my fesbuk when i saw a picture of my friend - ecila, appeared on my FB newsfeed. A pic of her being fat..!

So pa lagi i went and ask her la how did she do dat. And she told me about the FatBooth apps! So saya pun donlod la... Mo juga terai kan haha.. Ingin melihat rupa sendiri menjadi si gemakkk! Yihaaa!

I think the output is more real if u use a pic yg ur face looking straight to da camera.. Mo ngam angle juga br da pic will look real.. Note dat Itu leher suda besambung sama itu dagu hihihi..

I was scheduled for surgery on 7th of Sept. There are some technical problems with the Operation Theater in Hosp Keningau, my surgery was postponed to 17 of Oct and I'm scheduled for admission on the 13th of Oct. Actually, I can request to transfer the surgery to KK but it will be done by a different doc, which will need to study my case. I'm not quite comfortable & confident to go on with that option. So, I decided to wait.

Well, I was a bit frustrated & upset that it needs to be re-scheduled. Anyway, I believe that God's timing is always perfect...

the only thing that I'm still holding on..my faith.

I saw this article while browsing my FB news feed this morning. The article is about the urbanization in Kiulu (kunun la!). hehehe

In the article, there is a pic of the HSBC building located in KOTA KINABALU (refer Pic above) which they refer to as KIULU. The caption of the picture is "Pekan Kiulu di Sabah yang kini turut menikmati limpahan nikmat merdeka melalui pembangunan yang berterusan".

Anyway, the picture was removed this afternoon. I guess the author or Utusan finally noticed their mistake. News like this spread like wildfire! thanks to 'limpahan nikmat merdeka' that comes in the form of social networking. hehe

According to the author, the picture 'hanya sekadar hiasan'. Sudah busted mo cover lagi bah ayaiyai!. You don't simply put a picture of Cinderella when your story is about Red Riding Hood! That doesn't do justice to the little red riding hood, her grandmother or even the wolf! :P

How to tell a genuine story when you can't even get the picture right!! hehehe

Like an undercooked cake covered with a beautiful floral design fondant. The cake is nicely covered and you'll never know that the center is undercooked, unless you cut it =)

I would say this is the best laksa sarawak that i've ever had. the soup sangat sedap & very smooth.. Bak kata c nick (my colleague), tiada itu partikel2 kecil..hihi

So To anyone who is going to visit Kuching, Sarawak, make sure u have "to try da laksa sarawak in Chong Choon Cafe" in ur to-do-list!!

Btw, the shop is located at Abell Road. It's a corner shop. Make sure u come early, kurang sikit customer. Otherwise, you'll hv to wait for seats.

I've got the chance to attend the 6th Sabah International Folklore Festival (SIFF) recently. Thanks to the free tix given by my aunty! Otherwise, I wouldn't bother going to this event hehe.

Opening Act...

The event started off with the Magavau ritual by an uncle and an aunty from Kudat. Bagus juga la untuk generasi2 muda Sabah *ehem* macam saya to get the chance to see the local Sabahan cultures. Even though I don't understand any single word from the ritual.. tidak apa, saya memang tidak bercita2 untuk menjadi seorang bobohizan ..ai! =)

"Pst! cara dudukan itu aunty sungguh kurang sopan! Cuba pi kestau dia lu inda bagus duduk kangkang2! hehe"

Then comes the "balan-balan", a mythical bird symbolising a black magic practitioner in the local Iranun mythology, making an entrance in a 'so called' gaga-entrance (except for the extra clothings). It was the mascot for this event, not gaga but the "balan-balan", ok!?.

But the emcee mention BalBal? Bawbaw? BaoBao? whatever la! Jangan saja Bebau! *aii! sejenis isu sensitif ni di ofisku* hahaha

And the Winner is!...

China won the 6th SIFF Competition, and was presented with the Chief Minister Award. I lurve their dazzling performance! ~~and their pink outfit! mcm selesa mo pakai tidur.. ai :p~~. However, I don't fancy their top-knot hairdo! haha

The Taiwan group, which was the champion last year, took the Cultural Minister’s Award (Numbul dua la kira diorg ni). I was captivated by their energetic performance; they also use a lot of props. Ada payung, kompang2, kepala naga, bendera.. konfom excess baggage! hehe. I thought they would win again this year, but they did some minor mistakes during the routine. Tiapa, tahun depan cuba lagi! =)

And Kazakhstan won the 3rd Place (the Sabah Cultural Board Award). Hmmm, they should be thankful that the event was on the 24th July. If they were to perform on the 9th of July, silap2 tidak sampai Pusat Kebudayaan Sabah oo.. kalah tanpa bertanding trus ni! hehe

Winners of Subsidiary Title...

South Korea - Best Costume Award
I think the man's ~~clownish hair~~ outfit contributes to the high score for South Korea. It gaga-over-the-clown bebeh!

Egypt - Best Music Award
I think the sound from the camel add some extra points.. or was it a horse? or a donkey? Hookeh-kookeh! I failed to identify the species of the animal...I bet it's not listed as endangered species! hahahaha :P

Russia - Best Choreography Award
Sejenis tarian memanggil burung dan burung2 pun menari! aii.. hmm! that doesn't sound right, does it? :p. I have no major comments/review on this. Main ko burung! hehe

Indonesia - Best Performance Award
I thought they would possibly secure top placing in the competition. Nevermind, at least they won an award for their country. I was amazed by the dance which was expressed through the hand movements, body, and legs (sengaja kasi bold kasi sedikit penegasan). The dance requires constant wrist movement yang buli memudaratkan otot2 karpal di pergelangan tangan. But they did it like it was nothing! lemah gemalai gitu, dan bukan secara buragas (Read: Ganas & kasar).. huhu

Slovakia - The Jury Award
I like the dress! macam tu perempuan di tin susu manis pilihan saya.

Philipines - Highest Online Award
Ni tarian main pijak2 piring! inda bagus tu.. bagus2 ada tu lantai, mo juga injak2 tu piring. Kalau nenek sa nampak dia marah ni. huhu

Best Female dancer - a dancer from Thailand (not in the pic!). But this is the performance from Thailand. Merupakan pujaan diva2 who are seating at the back row. Smexeh kah!? kalau ko kotuton baru ko tau! hahaha

Last but not least...

Performance by Serkan Kaplan who is representing Turkey. Hmm... the dance just doesn't look right. Sungguh sesuatuh! hahaha

OKla.. that's all, hope you'll enjoy reading my review. Even though I love to dance, I'm not a professional dancer. So my review is more of pleasure rather than technical *aiseymen*. Some of the performance doesn't make it to my blog entry, try to capture my interest next time - who knows you might just be lucky! hahaha.

24 Hours to live...

I you only have 24 Hours to live... what would you do?

Nah! inilah antara hasil ber'togetherness'... sa suruh kamu bikin progress report, ada juga side track ah. Sambil menyelam minum beer butul kamurang! *ai!* hahahaha

BTW, this video is made by my colleague extraordinaire Joannie Jomitol. Some parts of the video was a bit shaky but it matches and in a way, compliment the concept. For a newbie in videography, I'd say Joni did a great job! I can see 'joni's touch' in the video, which is cool! I'm looking forward for her future piece(s) of art.. aiseymen! hehe

Well, I didn't really take it seriously when she posted the question during the shooting of the video @ Lembah Impian Country Homes. It was about 10.30pm and I've been facilitating a workshop since 9am; I was extremely tired *my eye bags says it all!* muka pun pucat2 suda ni hahaha. The shooting of my video, Jessica's & Fordy (da guy who said "saya mau cium dia"; also one of my colleague) was done at the same session *notice the background voices?* hahaha

During the shooting, actually there are 3 parts to my answer. But yang satu was not included, thank God it was edited/removed! Si Jessica bilang "Nasib itu scene teda...kalau bapa ko dingar, nanti ko kana rutan!" wakakaka

And the "beer yang ada love dalam dia" is actually a description of an image that I've given during the team building activity that we did earlier that day ... masih lekat tu imej dalam otak sa masa tu! hihi. (NOTE: Ini adalah kesan sampingan orang yang overdose workshop) *hahaha :P*

Come to think about it kan...what would I *really* do if I only have 24 hours to live??? *assuming that I know la kunun when would the '24 hours' be* ... and I'd say:

Spending Time:
I would spend some time with my family (Read: Daddy, Grandma & 3 sisters), visit my mum's graveyard and spend some time with the one that I love *ehem! yang sa mo kawin la ni!* (if any) :P hahahahahaha.

Writing:
Write some short notes for my love ones and do a closing entry in my blog.

Sacraments:
Go for confession minta ampun segala dosa, ask for anointing & receive the Eucharist *supaya masuk heaven* ;p

ok, sebelum sa kasi masuk list benda yang bukan2 & kurang sesuai untuk tatapan bot2 kecil..

Whatever the things that I would do in the last 24 hours of mine, I will try to make sure that the message behind 3 little words that means big: I Love You! must be communicated to my love ones. Orang bilang actions speaks louder than words *which is true*... tapi kalau ada 24 hours lagi mau hidup, inda payah la "actions" lagi bah, "speak" terus!.. Lambat lagi sampai tu mesej kalau through actions.. hahahahaha.. Tapi kalau yang inda sempat "speak"... still have the "write" option la... (NOTE: For most women *including me!*, they need to hear the words in order to be convinced! *andang2* hihi)

Last but not least,

HE is the reason that I live, the rest are the reason I want to live =)

It was from my friend cum ex-colleague! It's her farewell note to me before she left Malaysia. *Happy*. I hope she's doing ok in France. I'm sure she's going to miss Sabah a lot! But, to start a new life, in a new place, with her beloved french husband.. That would be something that worth the sacrifice.. P/S: Lydija! I miss u la my fren

I spent the last 2 days facilitating this meeting. It's a lock-up workshop for one of the project team in WeWeF, to prepare the year end report for the donors of the project. I don't want to say much about the meeting. If I do so, I would be committing one of the deadly sins... yg numbur 8! *kidding* :P

Lets talk about the team building activity that we had!

The team building activity was facilitated by my bos. Since my bos is facilitating, i've got the chance to participate la hihi. In this team building activity:-

First of all we were instructed to line-up according to our date & month of birth (not the year). Macam biasa yang lahir hujung tahun *macam saya* memang paling belakang la. Then after that we were being paired up. My partner is my colleague extraordinaire Joannie Jomitol aka Joni da great! So its "Chalindon & Joni da great!" kunun la hahaha

In this activity, one person needs to be the communicator and one person is going to be the drawer. The communicator was given one pic with sets of geometrical images in it, and the person who is drawing is given a piece of blank paper and a pen. In the first round, I was the communicator and I need to describe the geometrical images in the picture to the drawer, Joni and Joni needs to draw according to my instructions. The drawer cannot ask any question to the communicator. We were given 1 minute to complete the task.

Note: each pair must sit back to back (the drawer cannot see the pic that the communicator is describing)

Chalindon's instruction (as far as my brain can remember la)

Ok. Kedudukan kertas potrait ah. Di bahagian paling kiri, tengah lukis satu segitiga sama sisi.
Ok. Trus di bawah dia lukis satu silinder yg bentuk macam tin beer. Trus dalam tin beer ada love.
Lepas tu di bawah tu silinder tadi, di bahagian tengah sikit. Lukis satu bulatan yang ada cross. Macam itu simbol peace, tapi dia cross la.
Trus di cross yang garis melintang, hujung kanan dia bersambung sama satu segiempat tepat yg senget! Itu segiempat tepat yang senget kasi shading ah!
Trus atas tu segiempat tepat yang senget, lukis satu segiempat sama.
Atas ni segiempat sama ada segitiga. Bercantum ah ni segitiga & segiempat sama.
Trus di kanan tu segiempat ada bulan sabit!

Time's up! And wallah! this was Joni interpretation to my instructions :p

NEXT!

In the 2nd round, we switch roles. And this time Chalindon is the drawer kunun! *dang! I failed my art* hahaha :P. Btw, in this round the drawer can ask question & we were given 2 minutes to complete the task.

Our conversation

Joni: kertas potrait! kalu tangan kanan sa atas kertas, ibu jari di posisi koordinat 1, jari telunjuk 2, next jari 3, 4 & kelingking 5 ah.
Chalindon: ok.
Joni: ok di koordinat 1, paling atas, lukis satu bendera. Ni bendera berkibar 1 kali seja.
Chalindon: ok sudah
Joni: Next, di bawah dia lukis satu segitiga yang bucu dia ngam2 d tengah2 bahagian bawah tu bendera. Itu segitiga garis putus2 ah.
Chalindon: ok. Bucu atas ngam2 sentuh tu bahagian tengah kibaran tu bendera kan?
Joni: ya. Trus garisan dia putus2 ah. Di tengah2 ni segitiga ada itu bulatan yang macam tadi yang ada cross *hahaha..ada reference* :D
Chalindon: ok. Ni lilitan bulatan menyentuh tu garisan segitiga ka? *huiyoo tekaluar maths term* :P
Joni: Iya. Trus di bawah tu segitiga ada satu segiempat tepat yang 3D. Err ko pandai lukis 3D ka? *ches ko Joni! mantang2 sa fail art* hahaha :P
Chalindon: Hahaha! Pandai bah.. Ini segiempat tepat 3D kedudukan dia menegak atau melintang? Bercantum ka sama tu segitiga? *uii banyak tanya si kawan..hihi*
Joni: Menegak. Iya dia bercantum tu
Chalindon: see thru ka itu segiempat tepat 3D?
Joni: Ya *note ini Joni salah kasi instruction! inda see thru tu 3D haha*
Chalindon: ok next.
Joni: Ok di kedudukan jari 3 & 4. Aiseymen, koordinat jari lagi tu ai ai..hahaha. ok di kedudukan jari 3 & 4, di bahagian bawah ah.. lukis 1 segitiga yg bucu 90 darjah dia di bawah bahagian kiri, ini segitiga berampai secara melintang.
Chalindon: haha.. kreatif bah tu guna koordinat jari.. paling manang! hahaha *sempat!*..ok tu segitiga punya bucu 90 darjah bahagian kiri kan?
Joni: Hahaha Iya. Trus di bawah dia ada satu segiempat tepat melintang macam yg ko suruh sa lukis tadi, tapi ni ni segiempat tepat tidak senget. Dia punya bucu saja yang bulat2. Tidak tajam ah bucu dia.

Ok time's up! And wallah! Inilah hasil kerja+sama kami hahaha.

Nasib sa inda jadi arkitek. Kalau inda, silap2 buli roboh rumah yang sa design! hahaha ;p

Thru this exercise, 3 things that we learn are * ekceli banyak from but sa pilih yang paling menang! hehe*.

We learn:

The importance of communication in working as a team
How easy it is for one brain to misinterprate what the other brain has inteprated! hahaha
That generation gap is one of the major factor that leads to failure in communication. Bahasa generasi muda masa kini telampau advance bah. Susah mo paham! ekekeke (eg. urban language :p)

OK! Habis pasal aktiviti.. it's bed time... I'm sharing room with my Squzie Sika!

When tity talks about walking down memory lane

That's an old picture of me & my mum!

She was trying to teach me how to swim. I can't recall on how many times she tried to teach me. I really appreciate her effort. But up until now, I'm the only one in my family that can't swim hahaha.. I failed! Swimming is just not something that i'm good at.

I hope I don't dissapoint her that much. I might not be a good swimmer ala nurul huda abdullah but at least I make use of my life in other good ways & not an addition to the mereka yang rebah statistics hehe. I'm just a petite girl with a big heart and pretty too *gag, gag & puke!* hahaha

My mummy once told me that I don't have to be a perfect child for her, as long as I am happy with the choices that i've made and able to take good care of myself that's sufficient enough for her. My happiness is her joy!

...& I want her to have that joy too. I luv u mummy!

One doesn't have to be that perfect as we live in an imperfect world afterall..

P/S: Maybe I didnt really put so much effort in learning how to swim before. Perhaps, now is the time to do it right!... Bah! Swimming kita! Hihi

Have you ever witnessed someone die right in front of your eyes?

I did! I was in the hospital recently and I saw one patient in her late 60s die due to her sickness (p/s: no. I don't know her). Initially she was just having some difficulty to breath, then the nurse gave her the oxygen and set the blood pressure monitoring device on her arm. Few minutes later, her eyes just roll up and she became unconscious. Her son who was looking after her panic and he immediately rushed to call the doctor. The doctor & nurses rushed to her bed, they closed the bed curtain and start the medical emergency procedures.

I can hear the alarm from the blood pressure monitoring device, the sound of medication utensils clinking and the voice of the doc giving the nurses some instructions. It just spike up my curiosity on what is happening behind the closed curtain.

Her family was there too, I guess the son must've informed them about his mother's critical condition. Some of her relatives were standing next to me, some were sitting and some went outside the ward. Some of them are weeping and some of them are busy texting & calling other relatives. Whatever their activities were at that time, they all share one thing in common. All of them are waiting in full of hope that she will be OK... and at the same time facing the fear that they might lose her...forever!

*this kinda reminds me on the day I lost my mum*

Then the doc called the husband of the lady and he told him that she's no longer there. It was 12.20AM.

And so the weeping turns to crying...
Words of consolation given...
May her soul rest in peace.

It's just one of those days where I missed my mum so much...

There's a lot of uncertainties in my life at the moment. Wish my mom was here to give me advice when it comes to making the right decision (like she used to) or say some words of comfort that would allay my fears.

Didn't manage visit my mommy's graveyard on mother's day either because I was in KL for the past 2 weeks. And when I came back, I was having severe tonsillitis (i was having flu, coughing and my tonsils are swollen). I was bed-ridden for 4 days! I'm just glad that i'm recovering now (still coughing, but i feel a lot better)

Me: yes. ni panggilan dari mana ni? may I know who's on the line?

Earth Hour 2011: Going beyond the hour

There goes my pledge for Lent! bilang mo update blog pasal inspiring stories.. blame it on climate change! hahaha.. Harus banyak2 beramal ibadah di musim Lent ini, tp tekurang pula! camana ni? But (ada juga BUT ah.. mo juga justify! haha), at least there's 1 thing that I did, which I'm proud of! woohooo to me! *smirk*

Mac & Apr is/and will be a busy months for me (bila masa yg tia busy? mcm teda .. bilang si ecila hahahaha). Anyway, for this 2 months I'm busy with Earth Hour 2011, proposal reviews for the next financial year, workshops, meetings yada-yada. Just came back from KL last week! and i'm going back to KL again next monday. Will be there for another 10 days before balik Sabah *sigh*. Makin kicil la sa ni!

ok! Lets talk aboout Earth Hour 2011. This year I was assigned to urus2 this event! the official event for Kota Kinabalu will be organized by DBKK. There're also events around Kota Kinabalu which is in Sutera, Nexus, Youth Prep Alam mesra, Bella Italia etc... Wewef will be supporting the event in DBKK and Nexus. Nexus invited us to set up booth during EH. ada juga sekolah invite (like All Saints) but tidak ngam the timing so we have to say no. sowy dear!

The DBKK event will take place in Hyatt regency. I'll be attending this event. This is the first official participation by Kota Kinabalu, dulu2 voluntary seja.. like sepa mo buat, buli organize event sesuka hati. But this year ada official ceremony during EH. Pakai kad2 jemputan lagi, tolak markah la abis dia taru PUAN Charlene Toyong. Sesuka Hati! Bila masa sa kahwin pun sia tetau hahaha. kalau masin mulut konpom ada yam seng bilang si Bos! hahahaha.. OK! sila jangan mula merapu!

Guess what pipol!? This year DBKK has agreed to switch off the light for CBD area (meaning: the KK town area), all DBKK premises and! lampu jalan sepanjang sepanggar highway .. from the tuaran-menggatal traffic light up to the navy camp in Sepanggar! Cool! isnt it?

Some funny experience; there's a suggestion during one of the EH meeting for SESB to turn off the main switch for the whole KK! hahaha.. "Kita kasi tutup seja itu panel letrik! Apa juga tu teda letrik 1 jam" dia bilang... salah konsep! mimang senang buat macam tu, but that is not the point. Switching of the light shud be a voluntary act by the public. It's the awareness that matters! bukan suka2 mo off tu panel letrik. nging ngang!

And there's misconception by the public juga. This event is NOT a long-term solution to mitigate climate change! However, it is an important first step to generate awareness, interest and concern over the global THREAT of climate change.

Earth Hour is a symbolic event to create public awareness about the need to combat global warming. With the increasing level of awareness, we hope that public will continue to demonstrate their concern about climate change by taking steps towards achieving energy efficiency and avoiding wasteful consumption. Jadi silalah jangan salah faham lagi..

NOTE: salah satu cara mo mitigate climate change, silalah mula menanam pokok secara banyak dan jangan menebang pokok secara berlebihan dan membabi buta :P hehe

Every year, there's a theme for Earth Hour, this year 2011, the campaign is going beyond the hour (logo dia 60+). meaning the 'act' harus berterusan! bukan time Earth Hour seja mo sayang2 itu mother nature, harus bertekad untuk go beyond the hour kangku diau.

It's the season of Lent again..

Lent is the Christian season of preparation before Easter (by observing a period of fasting, repentance, prayer, charity and spiritual discipline). The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ - his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial and resurrection. Ash Wednesday marks the first day, or the start of the season of Lent, which begins 40 days prior to Easter.

Fasting during Lent season means only one full meal is permitted. Ash wednesday, Good Fiday and the Fridays of Lent are days of required abstinence, meaning meat, and soups or gravies made of meat, are not permitted. Some give up things they have an inordinate desire for, e.g. sweets, caffeine, nicotine etc. By giving these up, the person learns to control a particular part of his or her life, which leads to greater self-discipline even when Lent is over.

Kepada sesiapa yg mo berpuasa semata2 mo men'slim'kan diri. Lent is more than a diet!! Lent is about spiritual results, not material ones! Losing a few pounds may be a nice side benefit, but fasting during Lent season should be done for God's glory and spiritual growth.

So, What would you give up for lent?

Last year, apart from fasting, prayer and charity.. I give up FB for lent. I deactivated my FB account for 40 days.

This year, i'm kinda inspired by one of the ideas for Lent proposed by a Lifeteen member. Her idea was:

“One year for Lent I wrote a letter each day. I made a list of 40 people who have touched my life in one way or another. Each day of Lent, I wrote a person on the list a letter of thanks for how they touched my life and I prayed for that person on that day….it was a WONDERFUL experience!!!” – Patty

I think I'm going to blog about inspiring stories from some inspiring and amazing people who have touched my life in one way or another and say a prayer for that person on that day (NOTE: prayer only applicable if dat person exist. Kalau inspiring/amazing story dari muvie2 lain cerita hehehe). We wouldn't know what the future will be, maybe this is the time for me to offer my thanksgiving note to these people *wink*

Life went back to normal. After being admitted for about a week, of ER, of oxygen supply. I'm thankful that I am still breathing. I'm forever thankful to Him for I am trully blessed..

Coming to the month of October... this 15th will be my 2nd anniversary with the Panda Family. How time flies..Yes! I survived!... Working in this organisation is very challenging! I saw people walk in and out of the organisation *hint*.

PBK XI has ended. I thank God for this event and I praise Him for making it possible for me to be part of it as the Organiser (LOT), Participant and Foster Family =) *happy*

Apa yang saya suka tentang PBKXI:

1.) The opportunity to serve!

Maklumlah sejak2 tidak lagi menjadi leader in Lifeline Ministry due to health reasons, saya sudah jarang2 berkecimpung dalam 'industri gereja' hehehe. Terubat jugala rindu mo menabur bakti di ladang Tuhan *atukoiii!* hahahaha

2.) Fellowship with my fellow members during breakfast and dinner

Riang ria gelak ketawa di bilik dokumentasi bersama Keitutz, Ray, Biance, Marianna, Dot, Janeswari, Rachel, Carol (just to name a few).. the amount of laughter that I had with u guys every morning mimang cukup untuk bekalan sepanjang hari di opis! hahahahaha...

3.) Opening: Gift of Life

"Ku kan traBanggggg..tinggi di awan" *sing* ... I was part of the worship team and the dancers. walaupun mengalami sakit kaki selepas menjalani aktiviti terkinja-kinja yg terlampau, namun ia masih tetap berbaloi-baloi! hahahaha...

4.) Pujian Pagi

ni mimang aktiviti yang bagus untuk memulakan hari2 sblm pi kerja.. hehehe

5.) Foster family

Jadi ibu muda *muda??* hahahahaha.. siok! i wish i can spend more time with them (Hernisa & Imelda + Dot). Both of my anak angkat are from Bundu Tuhan. Eventho i oni had 1 breakfast, 1 dinner, 1 lectio divina and few sesi sembang2 with them, i kinda miss them already..sedih ja tym mo hantar diorg balik.. sungguh syahdu kangku diau.. huhu.. I received a gift from Hernisa masa malam terakhir diorg tinggal di rumah sa. It was a deco of Mother Mary prayer.. I feel blessed..didnt expect that.. I love you both Hernisa & Imelda =)

6.) Jumpa geng2 lama

Dapat jumpa member2 lama time SCSG and CSS-UMS dolu2..mcm si markus and tepen..siokkk!.. hahahaha.. si markus siap bawa isteri & anak2 dia lagi ber-PBK hehehe

7.) Dance, dance

owh! sa mimang suka menari.. tapi sejak dua menjak ni aktiviti ini terpaksa dikurangkan akibat sakit otot dan tulang yg kerap menyerang..sepa suruh indak mo minum susu berkalsium ngingngang!~

8.) Vigil

I like this da most! of all the sessions that I manage to join. This is the session where I received the most. For me, it was a counselling session by Fr Will rather than a confession session. One thing that I would like to quote from Fr Will is that he said "Nothing is permanent in this world. Not even our life! The only thing that is permanent is change. So you have to accept 'things' as it is and savor da moment of your life on earth" ... Father left me with that to reflect on... pastu he gave me my penance & invite me to drop by to his office, in case I needed somebody to talk to...Thank you Father..Thank you Jesus!

9.) Meeting new friends

Being a sanguine by nature! do I have to explain more? hahaha...siok ni acara menambah2 kawan.

10.) Opportunity to learn

Through this event He also gives me the opportunity to learn. Being part of the organiser, I think we've done our best to serve Him. It might not be the most perfect event. But through the imperfection, He gives us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and grow in Christ. An all caps AMEN! for that.

Though the event has ended i'm sure that this event will be treasured in everybody's flickr of memories. Hope everybody gain/learn something from this event, as I do. Smile & God bless~

Last night, I shared to my 2 daughters (READ: daughter = 2 sisters from Bundu Tuhan who are staying with me during the PBK 11 event is SHC). I told them that whenever I missed my mum or I need to talk to my mum, I will pray to Mother Mary (Normally I will go to grotto to light a candle and offer my prayer there).

and today (it's the PBK final night already!), I received a deco pic of Hail Mary prayer from them. I really *REALLY* feel blessed! ... geez! im gonna miss them.

That's all i wanna say for tonite... will write more during the holidays... =)

Dang! I feel guilty for abandoning my blog for quite a while.

Anyway, I wanna share about a story shared by a sister in the Communication and Fundraising Workshop that I attended. It was a 3 days workshop held in promenade (tomorrow is the last day of the workshop. awhh!). The workshop was organized by Montfort and attended by NGOs, Associations, Parishes, church ministries etc.

The basic principles in fundraising that was being emphasized in this workshop is that people give to people, and people give because people have feelings, either guilty or mercy. when you do fundraising you need to open the heart of the donor first before you can open their mind & finally open their cheque book! hehe. And you also need to make the "ask"! so that the donor know how much are needed.

how can you open the heart of a donor before you make the "ask"?

One of the method given by the speaker is to tell a story (a TRUE story). The story must be able to tug at the heart. Then there was an exercise, the speaker ask for volunteer to tell a story and make the ask! You must be able to tell your story & make the ask in 1 minute.. Here comes Sr Dorothy..& she goes

One day, there was a celebration in a village. This village is located in a rural area and very isolated. It was very seldom that they have this kind of celebration in this village. All the children was lining up to get the food. An old lady spotted a little boy, and he was holding two plates of food. He was caught in the act! as 1 person can only take 1 plate of food. He ran away with the foods before the old lady manage to stop him. A few minutes later, he came back and he wanted to take another plate of food.

Before he was able to do so, the old lady caught him & she scolded him. she said "you've taken 2 plates of food and now you're taking another one!?". The little boy was really scared and he was crying when he answered to the lady "yes, the two plates is for my grandfather and my grandmother. both of them are really sick and they can't walk. It's very seldom that we have this kind of food in our village. I want them to have good food as well. And now I am getting some food for myself. I'm sorry sister" ... and you know what? from that day the old lady who happen to be standing here in front of you make a pledge that she will serve the people in Paitan, even if His grace would want her to serve in other places..hehe

Sister forgot to make the ask after the story tho. but it was a good one! It managed to tug my heart. way to go sister Dorothy!! I support your work in Paitan.. =)
